A Word for 2014 from Sandra

We began 2013 by praying the Jabez Prayer at our planning meeting and God responded by providing an amazing office space from which to minister, enabling On Wings to reach more children with the shoe box outreach, bringing more struggling families, opening the door to teach in the youth detention center, and expanding our out-reach to inmates.
So it is with great anticipation that we race into 2014 knowing that God is our faithful Guide, Provider, and Counselor.
He keeps bringing scripture to me in regards to His Light. I want to en-courage each of you with this passage that I sense He is giving us for 2014.
The passage comes out of Isaiah 9:2, “The people (prodigals) walking in dark-ness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a Light has dawned”. I believe He is saying that 2014 will be a year when we as His light bearers, will see many come out of the darkness; out of the enemies camp and they will see a great Light shine into their hearts and transform them.
One of our inmates wrote us: “I am so thankful God sent OWLAD into my life. I have begun to love myself again and to love Christ and He is making everything brand new in my Life. I can never ever forget our friendship be-cause when everyone in the world thought of me as a monster, you gave me hope, encouragement, courage and peace.”
This inmate, who was walking in darkness has seen a great Light. We are called to love the seemingly unlovable as Jesus loves.
