Are you willing to stand in the gap?
“And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none. Therefore have I poured out mine indignation upon them; I have con-sumed them with the fire of my wrath: their own way have I recompensed upon their heads, saith the Lord God.” Ezekiel 22:30-31.
Ezekiel was looking for someone to stand in the gap. Why? So that God would not have to bring down judgement upon the heads of the people.
We know there is a penalty for our sins and God has to bring judgement….but God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son to stand in the gap for us….to pay our pen-alty. We can stand in the gap for our Prodigal. They are sitting in the dark, blinded by the enemy. It is a war. We can stand in the gap to keep the enemy from making an entrance or continuing to blind our loved one. We are wres-tling with principalities, powers, and the rulers of darkness of this world as it speaks of in Ephesians 6:12.
Make sure you have on the armor of God as you pre-pare for the war you are entering.
Pray this prayer as taken from Prepare for War by Rebecca Brown:
“Lord, please let me stand in the gap for ____________ and fight for him so that his eyes will be opened and he will be freed from demonic bondage so that he can see his need for Jesus.”
As I stated last month God has given us the passage in Isaiah 9:2 that those in darkness have seen a great Light. I believe that it is in the power of our prayers as we take up the burden of each other to intercede not only for our prodigal but for ALL prodigals that we will see scores of them come out of the darkness this year.
I have asked some ladies to come to the office to pray in our prayer room over your prodigals in a more concentrated effort to storm the gates of heaven this year and see God bring home the prodi-gals in ways only He can. But we have a part in this battle as we join the ranks for the Prayer War-riors for the souls of our lost ones. I want to be more than a soldier; I want to be a Warrior. A warrior is on the front lines of the battle.
Won’t you join us this year in this battle? You are welcome to come and pray in the prayer room Tues-days-Thursdays 10:00 to 2:00 PM.
